Minor setback.

Irene has stopped me from posting. There's currently no power and as a result, no Internet. Bare with me; I'll be back to uploading soon.

Ten Years.

I can't believe it's been ten years already since Aaliyah passed. They have that cheesy saying that people live on through their music; I guess it's actually true and that's why it doesn't feel so much like she's gone.

Bonus.

Gonna keep this post short: the car game down here in VA is SERIOUS! You fools think you're balling with your beemers and escalades on dubs? Fuck outta here: this IS how its done. Old School. Classic. This is grown-man business right here; I'm already stacking for my own 50's pickup.

Yard Crawl.

I just noticed with my, "Back" posted, I mentioned that D and I had returned from VA from the Yard Crawl, but never mentioned what it was..My Bad.

Anyway, quick info: The Route 11 yard Crawl is an annual event that takes place in VA every second weekend of August. It's a time where folk unearth all kinds of random ish from their homes, barns, stores, etc..and put them on the side of the road (literally) to sell.

If you've been keeping up with my blog for a little bit, you'll know that D and I have a huge love of vintage things, so the Yard Crawl of course, was THE place to be for us this past weekend. It was our first one ever, and we had a great time driving down, hanging out, and shopping. Here are a few photos that I took. we posted some more on our other blogs as well: onefifteenbroad.tumblr.com & highontheregular.tumblr.com

So, as you can see, people sell ALL kinds of things at the Crawl. Everything from Elvis lamps, to peacocks. We even saw goats, rabbits, and chickens for sale! Craziness, but it was an amazing experience. The houses down here are unreal; this place is extremely old, even older than here we live (which is pretty damn old too). The victorians and colonials that are still standing are just unbelievable; whether you're into that sorta stuff or not, you could probably still respect the beauty of these things.

Speaking of beauty! Seen that yellow Schwinn?? We copped that ish! Excuse my excitement man, but this fucking bike is awesome as all hell. Dude wanted $120 for it, we offered $85, and settled at $95. Shit was a steal at the asking price; it's in great, working condition; we've been whipping it through the neighborhood since we got back. I also picked up that black Schwinn (next to the pogo stick) for $50. We ending up spending a few hundred dollars total but we didn't pay asking price for a single thing, and everything we picked up is worth more than what we paid, so we definitely made out extremely well.

With all of that said, we look forward to hitting VA up next August for another Crawl.

Back.

Made it back from the Yard Crawl in one piece. We actually returned last night because we were able to navigate thru the entire 40-plus mile stretch, in a day. We started yesterday at 7am and got done some time after 3. It was without a doubt, a totally new and fun experience, and we had a great time. More photos soon.
