NYC December, 2010 (day two)

Starbucks, Tut Exhibit, Times Square, Manhattan Mall, Random Pizzeria, Macy's on 34th

This exhibit was amazing; anything related to Egyptology is of great interest to me. Unfortunately, you aren't allowed to take photos, so the first two are the only ones that I managed to capture.

These artifacts are over 3,000 years old, and look as if they are recently created. Eventually, D and I will make it out to Cairo to see treasures of Tut's tomb that aren't allowed out of Egypt, but for now this will do.

Anubis: Jackal-headed god associated with mummification and the afterlife

Scarab: seen as an earthly symbol and was associated with the daily rising of the sun.

The Eye of Horus: Ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health
